Fifty Percent.

She was not one of those deluded women who believed in the one. The notion was silly.
Fifty percent of the doomed marriages that ended in divorce probably started out with the one.
It seemed the one could be way too fluid. And like fluid took the shape of its container. Sometimes the container would leak.
Maybe with a convincing argument she could be persuaded into believing. Believing in the one was for Anna much like believing in God. She needed proof. With proof she’d throw herself into the one theory heart and soul. Anna needed to know the one always remained the one. Not a replaceable the one.
She looked around and decided proof came up fifty percent short.
